IB stands for Introducing Broker. IBs generate revenue by promoting Pepperstone's products and platforms to their clients.
The main difference is that in general, IBs introduce clients to Pepperstone and, depending on the licence/region, they operate in can interact with them, provide services, and earn ongoing, volume-based rebates. Affiliates receive a one-off CPA payment for each referred client who meets the required trading criteria.
It depends on the method you will use to refer clients. If you provide your clients with any interactive services, then the IB program would be best for you. On the other hand, the CPA/Affiliate program is suitable for digital marketers who rely mostly on click tracking to source their referrals. Ideally, there should be no direct services or relationship maintained with your leads in the CPA/Affiliate program.
IBs can be rebate providers, social influencers and comparison website owners to name a few. They could also offer resources such as trading tools, market information, trading schools or coaching, indicators, VPS, seminars/webinars, technology providers, signals, trade copiers and EAs however this will depend on the licence / region they operate in.
